A group of ten sentenced of cyber-bullying against Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has ruled against ten people for perpetrating the online harassment of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The defendants faced allegations of disseminating fabrications regarding her sex and sexuality, in addition to posting defamatory statements about the pair's significant age difference.

The court issued suspended prison sentences of as much as eight months to the defendants. The detailed judgment has yet to be released.

A persistent unfounded claim alleging that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has been in circulation since her husband's initial election in 2017.

This recent ruling in France comes as the Macrons engaging in a defamation lawsuit in the United States of America against right-wing influencer Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared similar conspiracy theories about the Brigitte Macron's gender.

Their legal filing contends that Owens ignored substantial counter-evidence that refuted her assertions opting to platforming known conspiracy theorists.

Owens has regularly repeated these assertions on her podcast and online platforms, and in March 2024 stated that she would risk all her credibility on her insistence that Mrs. Macron is in fact a man.

Brigitte Macron initially encountered her current spouse when she worked as an educator at his high school.

The two tied the knot in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was 54.
